Loading metre calculator
Enter your pallets or your own dimensions. You see the loading metres, the share of a standard 13.6 m trailer and whether it fits on one truck.
How loading metres are calculated
A loading metre is one metre of trailer length across the full width of about 2.4 m. Goods are converted by their floor area: length × width ÷ 2.4.
Goods that cannot be stacked block the space above them, so every pallet counts. Stackable goods share a floor position, so two pallets stacked count once.
The result is rounded up to one decimal, the way loading metres are usually quoted.
Common values
| Load | Loading metres |
|---|---|
| 1 Euro pallet (120 × 80) | 0.4 |
| 1 industrial pallet (120 × 100) | 0.5 |
| 33 Euro pallets, one layer | 13.2 (full trailer) |
| 26 industrial pallets, one layer | 13.0 (full trailer) |
What the calculator does not know
It assumes goods can be placed side by side to use the full width. Odd sizes, overhanging goods or load securing can need more space. For shared trucks the price is based on the higher of weight and space, and the conversion between the two differs between carriers. Send us the details and we confirm before you book.
